The Communists

The Communists, formerly known as the Communist Alliance, is an Australian political party. It was registered with the Australian Electoral Commission on 16 March 2009.[1] It is an alliance of a number of Communist groups, individuals and ethnic based Communist Parties. The Communist Party of Australia (www.cpa.org.au) is a member of the Alliance. The Alliance ran in the seat of Sydney for the House of Representatives in the 2010 Federal Election but failed to gain the seat. It changed its name to The Communists on 24 August 2011.[2]
